After Weston was born the leaves started falling, the air started to crisp up and we were greeted by the familiar feelings of Autumn. I've always loved fall. After the hot, dry, gruelling Okanagan summers we get I welcome fall with open arms. Especially after enduring one of those pregnant as heck and just so veryyyy hottt.
One of the first things we did when we left the hospital was take a walk to a nearby park so Weston could enjoy the fresh air. After 3 days in a stuffy hospital we all needed it.
In these photos he is only a couple days old!! Of course he just snuggled in his carseat and slept but that was really our first "family outing" and it did feel special.
Soon after we went to the pumpkin patch, sipped on Davison Orchard's amaaaazing hot apple cidar and soaked up that newborn love among all the pumpkins. I'll post a link to the orchards at the bottom of this post. They have a great selection of family activities and we always have a good time there. Plus their treats are i n c r e d i b l e!!
Again, he basically just slept and tried to avoid the wind and cold. I'm so happy we took the time to get out of the house even in the first few weeks. Having all of these photos to look back on makes me so, so, so happy. In order to get to the pumpkin patch you have to ride in a little train they made out of a tractor and fruit crates so it was a fun little ride. I'm hoping as I catch up I can detail these experiences more and work on my writing skills, we shall see.
Fall seemed to fly by so quickly last year because we did spend a lot of time hauled up inside once baby was here. Here are a few cute pictures of Weston on an incredible crocheted blanket from a family friend! I looove foxes and this was definitely one of the most thoughtful gifts we received.
I loved his little blue bear suit so much! After this I truly think we hibernated for like 2 or 3 months. Enjoying every second of those calm, sweet, first new baby vibes and just adjusting to this whole new life we're starting together.
Now that Fall is almost upon us this year I can't wait to do all of the festive things again and even more so!!
The spring, summer, is quite a hectic time for people in their lives, but then it comes to autumn, and to winter, and you can't but help think back to the year that was, and then hopefully looking forward to the year that is approaching. - Enya
